Services Acupuncture Acupuncture can give valuable pain relief to geriatric dogs or dogs with complicated conditions while cutting back on their medication doses. Give your dog a better quality of life. Acupuncture is effective and non-invasive for treating arthritis, IVDD, neurologic conditions, neck and back pain and paralysis. PEMF therapy via an Assisi Loop is available for pets that prefer less contact. Medication Refills Dr. Janie can do an exam and authorize medication refills for current patients that have recheck exams scheduled. Dr. Janie can also administer injections like Cytopoint used to treat allergies, Librela, a monthly injection prescribed to treat arthritis, and Adequan, an injection used to lubricate and protect joints in dogs with arthritis. Geriatric Pet Management Dr. Janie is offering an easy to collect urine cancer screening test for any dog over 7 years of age or with an increased risk of cancer. We can also have an honest conversation about when and if geriatric pets need vaccine boosters. We can find out their core vaccine titer levels and Dr. Janie can write vaccine exemption letters. We will need a clean place to sit on the floor with enough room for your dog and two people. Your dog can sit on a dog bed or blanket. We will talk for 20-30 minutes and treatment will last 20-30 minutes. Most dogs love eating some frozen sweet potato treats during their acupuncture treatment. If it is close to a meal time please wait until after treatment to feed your dog. You will be welcome to sit by your dog's head for the whole procedure. |
